For your business
Business owner’s policy.
A practical starting point for your business.
What does it help protect?
A business owner’s policy, often called a BOP, packages selected property and liability coverages for eligible businesses. Your operations, premises and equipment help determine whether a package is suitable or separate policies are needed.
General information. Actual coverage depends on the policy.
Check whether a package fits the operation
A business owner’s policy can be a practical starting point when an eligible business needs both liability and property protection. Describe what you sell or do, where the work happens and the property you own or lease. Daniel can use that picture to discuss a package or separate policies. Eligibility and available features depend on the insurer; a business label alone does not settle the fit.
Give business property a complete inventory
Include furniture, stock, computers, equipment and improvements you are responsible for under a lease. Explain whether property stays at the premises or travels to jobs. Compare the proposed values and settlement terms with what replacing essential items would require. The property section deserves its own review even when the liability limit already meets a customer’s request, because those coverages address different losses.
Ask how an interruption would be handled
If your business could not operate after a covered event, identify the expenses that would continue and how income would be affected. Review the business income terms offered, including covered causes, limits, waiting periods and the period of restoration. A decline in sales or a temporary closure is not automatically an insured event. The applicable policy wording determines whether a particular interruption qualifies.
Price the whole coverage need
Operations, location, property values and selected protection help shape the insurance discussion and quote. Bring lease terms, customer requirements, existing policies and the information the insurer requests about the business. Ask which exposures remain outside the package, especially vehicles, employee injuries and professional services. Comparing the complete set of needed policies gives a more useful view of cost than looking at the BOP premium in isolation.
Compare the details that matter.

Good questions
Know before you choose.
Does a BOP include every business coverage?
No. Commercial auto, workers’ compensation and professional liability often require separate coverage. We can discuss which policies fit your operation.
What do I need to get a quote?
Describe your business, annual revenue and locations. Bring lease requirements, current coverage and any customer insurance requirements.
Does requesting a quote start my coverage?
No. A quote request does not bind, change or cancel insurance. Coverage starts only when confirmed by the insurer or an authorized representative, subject to the effective date, policy terms and any required payment.
Can a business that rents its premises use a BOP?
Possibly. A tenant may still need liability coverage and protection for its own contents, equipment or improvements. The business and property must meet the insurer’s eligibility rules, and the lease should be reviewed.
Does business income coverage apply whenever revenue falls?
No. Coverage depends on the insured event, policy triggers, exclusions and other conditions. Review those details rather than assuming every closure, supply problem or reduction in sales is covered.
Are company vehicles and employee injuries included in a BOP?
A standard BOP generally does not replace commercial auto or workers’ compensation insurance. Explain those exposures so the broker can discuss any separate policies needed.
